Watercolour of Venice, by Albert Decaris, artist, painter, 1001 _1988, decorator and engraver. He also worked in watercolour and ink, often to prepare his engravings. He is also the author of over 600 large-scale engravings on various subjects, including the mythology of Rome, Italy, Greece, Spain, and France portraits. Elected to the Academy in 1943, he became president in 1960, winning the gold medal for engraving at the 1948 Olympic Games, and was appointed a knight in the Order of Merit Postal.
