Large beer pitcher in salt-glazed stoneware and pewter, Germany, Westerwald type

Superb large beer pitcher in handcrafted salt-glazed stoneware, German Westerwald type or Alsatian Betschdorf, unsigned, old early 20th century, inscription in the lid, hand-engraved 1914 probably date of manufacture or acquisition. Pretty baluster shape, large wide cylindrical neck, small elegant handle. Closed by a hinged lid in nicely worked gray pewter. Body decorated with floral reliefs, plants, friezes and geometric patterns, very detailed, light blue gray background and cobalt blue details. Very beautiful decorative object, collection or table use. 38.5 cm max height with lid, approximately 16 cm diameter. Very good condition, a little deposit/oxidation on the metal of the lid but the whole is impeccable, slight deposit in the reliefs and on the base of the lid on the top of the handle. Approximately 1.2 kg.
