Gold-plated brass carafe & bowls, Pierre Forsell for Skultuna, 1960

Elegant carafe and brass bowls. Gold plated 23 carats for the bowls and 24 carats for the carafe. Designed by pierre forssell and manufactured by skultuna in sweden. The company was founded by king carl IX of sweden in 1607. Pierre forsell introduced contemporary design to skultuna (he worked there between 1955 and 1986). He created many objects, mainly candle holders and brass "tableware" objects. The decanter has a heavy cap made of solid brass. Accompanied by 12 small cups, designed for alcohol. They could also be used as decorative objects or candle holders for candle warmers. Good vintage condition with a slight patina, the carafe has small traces of corrosion at the bottom, see last photo. All parts are stamped. Size: Carafe h 17 cm, l 12 cm, p 6 cm. Cups h 3 cm, diameter 6 cm.
