A vintage 'Orkidea' vase designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala in 1953. Marked with an incised signature 'timo sarpaneva 3586' on the base. An authentic piece of Finnish glass design from the 1950s. Awarded a Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1954. Timo Sarpaneva (1926 - 2006) was not only the artist who designed the 'i' logo for Iittala. His innovative work combines art with utilitarian design. In addition to glass, Timo Sarpaneva also worked with textiles, wood, porcelain, and metal. His unique industrial design contributed to Finland's global reputation in the design world. His work received the Lunning Prize and was awarded twice at the Milan Triennale. Timo Sarpaneva (1926–2006) was not only the artist who created the 'i' logo for Iittala. His innovative work combines art with functional design. In addition to glass, Timo Sarpaneva worked with textiles, wood, porcelain, and metal. His unique industrial design significantly contributed to Finland's international renown in the design world.
