Vintage 'Orkidea' vase designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala in 1953. Signed 'TIMO SARPANEVA 7568' at the base. An authentic piece of Finnish glass design from the 1950s, awarded a Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale in 1954. Timo Sarpaneva (1926 - 2006) was a renowned Finnish artist and industrial designer, known for designing the 'i' logo for Iittala and for his innovative works in glass, textiles, wood, porcelain, and metal. His work contributed to the global reputation of Finnish design. This vase is a sought-after collector's item. Timo Sarpaneva (1926–2006) was not only the artist who designed the 'i' logo for Iittala. His innovative work combines art with utilitarian design. In addition to glass, Timo Sarpaneva also worked with textiles, wood, porcelain, and metal.
