Storage furniture, type sideboard, French made, hand-carved, mid-19th century. Provenance from Brittany, life scene in bas-relief. Old labels from the Bedel & Company storage facility on the back of the furniture. Removable upper part composed of 11 small finials and a shelf with a back decorated with floral motifs. The central part consists of a drawer with a bronze handle and a cupboard door. Door decorated in bas-relief, rural life scene from around 1850, depicting a man and a woman. The four corners are openwork. A functional period lock allows the furniture to be secured. Inside, there is a storage shelf. Lower part offering baluster storage composed of 23 finials. Carved back with leaf motifs. Antique sideboard in solid chestnut. Furniture that was deposited at the famous public storage facility Bedel and Company, 18 rue Saint-Augustin in Paris, a guarantee of great quality for this unique piece. Numerous details, meticulous work on all parts of this furniture. In the centre, the bas-relief sculpture of a life scene testifies to another era. Piece in very good condition considering its age. On the top, 2 visible holes suggest that a pediment or other finishing element was once positioned there. Minor defects to note on the upper part; the shelf support is partial, and the top has a crack. Overall sound and solid, very well preserved.
