Mediterranean Marine Table – Régis BÉRARD (Louis BISSINGER) – Oil 1

Magnificent oil on canvas in size 2F depicting traditional fishing boats and sailing vessels animated in a Mediterranean port. A luminous and vibrant work, typical of coastal landscapes from the mid-20th century. This painting is signed by the artist "Bérard" in the bottom right, a notorious pseudonym of the famous Lyon painter Louis Bissinger (1899-1978), known for his marine scenes and remarkable historical background (deported painter, first prize of the city of Lyon in 1945). A detail of great value for collectors: the back of the painting has a very clear original workshop inscription dated: "Cogolin - Souvenir de Soulac on July 24, 76 M. Bérard." Dimensions of the canvas alone (27 X 22 cm) The work is enhanced by its superb original patinated molded wooden frame, which gives it undeniable period charm and excellent wall presence.
