Rare Soviet (USSR) desk lamp dating from the early 20th century, made of carbolite (a Bakelite equivalent). Its sleek, functional industrial design is characteristic of the Soviet era. The lamp has a solid frame, an adjustable arm, and a dome-shaped shade. It is marked under the base in Cyrillic “завод карболит орехово-зуево,” indicating that it was manufactured by the Karbolit factory in Orekhovo-Zuevo, which specializes in plastic materials.
