Religious wall decoration, icon of Saint / Virgin Mary, depicted draped standing on a pedestal, with a radiant halo & holding a flowering branch, against a starry background. Sculptural / architectural frame, like a round-arched door, flanked by 2 twisted columns with richly carved capitals & a rounded pediment, decorated with a frieze; base decorated with 2 reclining birds & ornaments. Frame & sculpture in gilded copper metal worked in repoussé relief & background in brown leather, hot gold leaf patterns. Mid-20th century work, very high quality.
