Overview. Rare neoclassical Biedermeier corner cabinet, designed to sit in a 90° room corner. South Germany, dating from around 1820. Materials. Cherry veneer over softwood with contrasting ebony stringing. Warm golden-brown cherry figure and dark ebony inlay detail. Design. Convex, bowed front forming a triangular footprint for corner placement. Clean, restrained Biedermeier geometry emphasising fine veneer work rather than heavy ornamentation. Features. Single shallow top drawer above a cupboard door with a circular star motif in ebony at its centre. Pull-out tray plate in softwood and an open compartment with an ebonized bottom; metal keyhole escutcheon on the door. Dimensions. Height: 167 cm; Width (front/diameter): 53 cm; Depth: 53 cm. Origin.
