This bedside table is a beautiful example of Art Deco furniture (c. 1930-1940), characterised by its geometric lines and the use of precious wood veneers. The piece features a slightly curved front, typical of the transitional period towards modernism. The diamond-shaped metal handles are iconic decorative elements of the style of the time. The veneer on the front of this piece, made of oak worked in "butterfly wings," is walnut.
