"persian carpet, ancient tabriz, circa 1920" An antique tabriz persian carpet, circa 1920, exquisite with exceptional design. Unique in its kind framed by poetic calligraphy of the famous poet: "omar khayyam". Carpet woven with very fine details and beautiful color coordination. An extraordinary mix of "garden of paradise" motifs in its center framed by a beautiful persian poetry by omar khayyam masterfully written from all sides. The carpet is hand-woven with the best quality of work and the technique of a master weaver from northwestern persia, city of tabriz. The weaver signed his masterpiece "eyuni" with the greatest humility at the top of the carpet. Omar khayyam's poems in this carpet are selective verses from three famous poems by him. Below is the reference of his poems in this carpet: Drinking wine and being happy is my religion. To be free from any faith or blasphemy is my religion. I told the bride of life, what is your dowry. Your happiness is my dowry, she replied. Shame on the heart that does not know pain. *a heart that is not madly in love with an attractive beauty. A day spent without being in love, is one more worthless day that cannot be imagined. *have a glass of wine that eliminates prejudice and discrimination. The one who eliminates the division between all nations. Do not stop a potion that makes a thousand problems disappear in a single drop. Conditions: low wool, strong wear, tram visible on a large part of the carpet. A restoration visible at the top left of the carpet as well as 3 tasks, one of which is more marked than the other two. Stopped fringes, a small lack of fringe. Edges redone. Worn carpet but no lack or holes. Wear is not very visible when looking at the carpet as a whole (due to the meticulousness and number of patterns that make up the carpet). It also remains very well preserved and solid.
