This is an antique European Tetex rug woven in France during the first quarter of the 20th century, around the 1920s. Also called a "Janus" rug, using the lily stitch weaving method. In the style of Persian rugs. Wool rug on a cotton base. Dimensions: 340x245 cm. Condition: General wear to the wool, some areas of heavy wear to the wool (see photos), fringes fully restored, selvedges in perfect condition. Abraches = color differences visible only in one direction of the rug.
