Pair of vintage marble and green stone bookends – Art Deco

A pair of vintage marble bookends in Art Deco style, combining veined black marble, decorative stones, and geometric lines. An elegant mineral composition, both practical and decorative. This lovely pair of vintage marble bookends charms with its interplay of materials and geometric lines inspired by Art Deco, whose aesthetic evokes creations from the interwar period (1910-1940). Resting on a base of veined black marble, each bookend features a vertical structure with bold lines, a brown stone element with marbled hues, and a green stone sphere, likely decorative onyx, placed on a matching base. Both functional and decorative, these bookends keep books upright while adding an architectural touch to a bookshelf, desk, or console. True little art objects, they are witnesses of a time when even everyday accessories aimed to be elegant. Condition: antique item showing signs of use, two chips, and small marks visible in the photographs, reflecting its history. Sold as a pair.
