Bentwood stool from the late 19th or early 20th century, made by the company Jacob & Josef Kohn (Austria-Hungary). Kohn was a competitor of Thonet, with whom it temporarily merged after World War I, during the Great Depression. This piano stool is made of solid beech and has a seat of bent plywood. The curved legs of the wide base are connected by a wooden cross. Very stable, its height is adjustable from 46 cm to about 64 cm thanks to a steel rod. This rod slides smoothly and has a slight play. The stool is covered with a transparent shellac varnish, partially worn, revealing the natural colour of the beech. It bears the original Kohn stamp in relief and the paper label under the seat. Beautiful collector's piece in good original condition, with some surface wear and some old wormholes, now unoccupied. Height 46 - 64 cm. Seat diameter 38 cm. Base diameter 50 cm. Weight 6250 g.
