A vintage adjustable piano stool made by Tatra Nábytek, factory Martin, in Czechoslovakia around 1960. This sculptural piece in mid-century modern style features a round wooden seat supported by a central wooden base and four curved legs. The unusual organic construction gives the stool a strong sculptural presence, while the adjustable metal threading allows for height adjustment of the seat for practical use at the piano or a desk. The underside retains its original manufacturer's label, identifying Tatra Nábytek, factory Martin, with model number 615 377. The wood has been treated with organic oil, enhancing its natural grain and warm honey colour finish.
