Christian Poumeyrol articulated wooden toy bear

The bear is in very good condition. It is solid wood, natural, eyelash is articulated, and its face is painted. It was designed, and manufactured by christian poumeyrol, creator and toy enthusiast, installed in the south of the cevennes, a bear similar to this one is among the collections of the museum of decorative arts in paris. It was exhibited in 1987-88 as part of the exhibition "the soul of wooden toys" at the same museum of skinning arts. Very nice work with pure lines, nice treatment of wood that highlights the veins and warm color. The drawing of the truffle is very slightly erased. A tiny flash on the left shoulder can also be seen in a detailed photo. The bear is marked in hollows inside the left foot, the mark of christian poumeyrol's workshop. He turns his head, raises his arms, sits and stands, thanks to the joints that work perfectly.
