This articulated wooden monkey figure was designed by Kay Bojesen in Denmark, originally conceived in 1951 within the mid-20th century Scandinavian Modern movement. The piece is made of solid turned wood in two contrasting tones, combining a warm brown wood for the torso, head, and limbs with a light wood for the oval belly, facial mask, snout, ears, hands, and feet. Two small dark eyes are set into the upper part of the face. The structure consists of individual pieces assembled with an internal system that allows the head, arms, and legs to rotate, enabling different sitting or standing poses. The hands and feet have a curved hook shape designed to hang the figure from shelves, furniture edges, or vertical supports, as well as to rest on desks, consoles, or sideboards. This Kay Bojesen design is part of 20th-century Nordic decorative arts collections and is often used in residential and studio interior design projects. Dimensions: Height 20 cm, Width 15 cm, Depth 5 cm.
