Pair of Japanese Candelabra - Meiji Base with Shakudo Decoration

Place of origin / date of manufacture: bronze vases from Japan (Meiji period - 1868-1912) and French mounts (late 19th century). Condition: excellent. Beautiful pair of Japanese bronze vases from the Meiji period with a brown patina and relief and applied motifs in gilded and silvered bronze depicting birds and insects flying among peonies and chrysanthemums ("shakudo" / 赤銅). They are mounted with late 19th-century bases and candelabra with 6 candles per bouquet, all in gilded metal with numerous details, in the Japonisme / Aesthetic style. Total height: 71 cm.
