Edwardian Smoking Cabinet in Oak and Marquetry

Magnificent small Edwardian-style (early 20th century) oak side table of very fine craftsmanship, having served as a smoking cabinet and cigar humidor. Exterior: The front and top are adorned with superb fine marquetry in light wood (rosette and fillets) highlighted by a contrasting black wood line. Original functional lock provided with its key. Hardware and hinges in patinated brass in perfect condition. Interior: Complete layout including a central rotating wooden carousel for storing pipes. The drawers are of remarkable cabinetmaking quality: the sides are lined with original cedar wood (ideal for regulating tobacco humidity) and the bottom is upholstered in its period velvet. The drawers showcase exceptional craftsmanship, assembled at the back with superb contrasting light wood dovetails (two on each side), highlighting the quality of the object's construction. The piece is sound, very well preserved, with no missing marquetry. Ideal for collectors of display items or cigar enthusiasts. P.S.: The cigar cutter is missing from the rotating tray.
