Magnificent porcelain sugar pot, made in the early 19th century by the prestigious duc d'angoulême factory in paris. Cornflower decoration has been very fashionable since the 18th century. Historically, the duke of angoulême, patron of this factory, was the husband of marie-thérèse, eldest daughter of marie-antoinette. This sugar pot was created at the time when she returned to france after a long exile. Note: the last two photos show 18th century pieces from the duc d'angoulême factory, currently on display at the louvre museum.
