Rare pair of antique tripod stools from Ethiopia, entirely hand-carved from a single piece of wood using traditional monoxyle techniques. Unique pieces from the mid-20th century. Their highly sculptural silhouette is distinguished by a thick, slightly hollowed circular seat and three curved legs directly carved from the mass. Each stool is a unique piece: their irregularities, signs of shaping, and slight differences in form testify to their handcrafted nature. The wood has a beautiful, deep, and nuanced antique patina, acquired naturally through use over time. These marks are an integral part of the character and history of the pieces. Very good overall condition considering their age. Natural exotic wood cut and sculpted with a gouge and chisel. To be used as low stools, side tables, small accent tables, or simply as sculptural objects in a contemporary, brutalist, wabi-sabi, or ethnic interior. Dimensions of each stool: H 35 × Ø 30 cm approximately. Delivery on request is possible in the Tarn, Aveyron, and Hérault departments.
