Very beautiful console table by the French cabinetmaker Charles Mellier, established in London. The latter had emigrated to England in the 1860s. After buying a factory, he experienced significant expansion, counting up to around 150 workers and working for the great English fortunes such as the Rothschild family. His creations can also be found in several interiors or monuments in the United Kingdom (see BIFMO on English cabinetmakers). This console table is patinated in shades of green and gold on a wood and plaster base. It shows some traces of past life, some small losses that will deserve to be repaired. It should be noted that its original green marble has been broken and bears the traces of an old repair (see photos). The console table is stamped on several uprights under the marble top, difficult to photograph clearly. It bears several marks of Charles Mellier, the address of 50 Margaret Street in London and his quality of Cabinet Maker. Free delivery is possible around Montauban and Toulouse.
