In the 1950s and 1960s, Danish designer Arne Wahl Iversen became known for furniture that was both clever, practical, and beautiful. He often collaborated with Komfort Møbelfabrik, a Danish manufacturer renowned for its superior quality and attention to detail. This iconic daybed is the result of that partnership. The piece is made from solid teak, a wood prized by Danish furniture makers of the time for its warm colour, beautiful grain, and durability. The most striking feature of the design is the armrests, which rise in an elegant line from the back legs and curve slightly outward. The wooden joints are so precisely finished that the frame appears almost seamless. After World War II, living spaces evolved, and there was a demand for multifunctional furniture. This design directly addresses that need: with a simple movement, you can transform this sofa into a comfortable bed for guests. The backrest is not directly attached to the seat but appears to "float," maintaining an airy look in the room. With the authentic marbled fabric, this piece perfectly embodies Danish design from the 1960s: clever solutions, beautiful woodwork, and timeless comfort. The woodwork has been fully restored, and the upholstery is still in very good and original condition, making this piece ready for immediate use and in excellent condition.
