This central decoration, of great finesse, is in the Louis XV style revived in the 19th century. The front and sides feature a veneer with geometric frieze decoration, perfectly balanced, highlighted by beautifully crafted gilt bronze ornamentation: mask drops, lock entries, feet, handles, and delicately worked rocaille motifs. The piece is topped with a peach blossom marble top, moulded in a corbin beak shape, adding contrast and elegance to the whole. The scalloped base rests on small curved feet, enhancing the visual lightness of the piece. French work, early 20th century. Floral and geometric marquetry. Veneer and solid wood.
