Regarding its condition, there is a slight crease in the margin in the lower right corner and some minor marks. On the lithograph itself, there is a small tear in the sky on the right and some minor stains. We have taken as many photos as possible of the imperfections so you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career in drawing, then moved on to intaglio engraving, specifically etching, in 1882. Simultaneously, in 1886, he embarked on a career as a director and set designer, creating shadow puppet shows at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing them with highly innovative colored sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself as a leading figure in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolor (he painted approximately a thousand watercolors).
