Ciboure Stoneware. Richard Le Corrone (1909-1977) Cup or vase with double handles. Entering the Ciboure pottery in 1928, this artist worked there in successive periods. He was a colorful local figure: when he wasn't decorating the stoneware of the factory, he worked as a bartender at the famous Bar Basque in Saint-Jean-de-Luz or humorously sketched caricatures of tourists on the Basque Coast. He developed a lively and "spirited" style, immediately recognizable, specializing in depicting traditional Basque daily life (fieldwork, shepherds, fandango dancers, or pelota players). Rich decoration of a Basque farmer on one side and his house on the other side. 1950s-1960s. Signed underneath. Height: 10.5 cm. Perfect condition.
