The design of this sideboard from the Idee Möbel programme by Erich Stratmann for Oldenburger Möbelwerkstätten marks a milestone in 1950s furniture design. The characteristic combination of the new striking tubular steel frame in Bauhaus design and the drawers in white and yellow emphasises the strictly geometric, functional orientation of the era. The cool, shiny metal harmonises in an appealing way with the warm surfaces of the drawers and the drop-down door. The body with new white HPL coating forms a calm frame. Carefully refurbished, the piece of furniture shines in very good vintage condition.
