MG5 cantilever armchair by Matteo Grassi (Circa 1970)

A true icon of Italian design from the 1970s, this MG5 model armchair was produced by the renowned Matteo Grassi company. An authentic piece, previously acquired from a professional antique dealer. It features a cantilever structure made of chrome-plated steel tubing that provides a soft and very comfortable seat. The seat, backrest, and armrests are upholstered in thick, high-quality black saddle leather. The armchair is in generally good condition. The leather is taut, clean, and has a beautiful patina consistent with its age. Please note (visible in the last photos): the chrome shows signs of oxidation and wear on the base bar (the part that rests on the ground). This remains discreet in everyday use and does not affect the sturdiness of the structure.
