Table lamp Carl Harry Stålhane model 'Orient' for Rörstrand Sweden 1960. Good condition, with a stamp underneath. 1 table lamp available. Price for 1 table lamp without lampshade. Carl-Harry Stålhane is one of the most renowned representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. He began working for Rörstrand in the nearby town of Lidköping at the age of 18. Initially, he decorated ceramic objects as an assistant to the lead artist Gunnar Nylund. Carl-Harry decorated Rörstrand's exclusive Flambé range while creating idyllic floral designs. In the mid-1940s, Carl-Harry Stålhane began developing his own stoneware. He held his first solo exhibition in 1948, impressing the public with his ability to work in most contemporary stoneware styles. However, after studying in Paris in the late 1940s, he found a style that was truly his own. Inspired by a deep love for Far Eastern ceramics, he broke free from the European ceramic tradition and found his inspiration in foreign cultures. The production of unique ceramic artworks by Carl-Harry Stålhane significantly increased in the late 1950s. In 1960, he reached a sort of peak with an exhibition at the Galerie Blanche in Stockholm.
