COD 11555. Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 18th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a religious subject, Madonna and Child, of good pictorial quality. A beautifully sized and proportioned painting, characterized by a dark background that enhances the colors of the Madonna's robes and the flesh tones of the two figures. Mary's hands are beautifully painted, and the painter skillfully depicts the baby Jesus gazing out at the viewer. Note the elegant draping at the top of the painting, which enhances the composition. The artwork has already undergone conservative restoration, restoring color in some areas, relining, and replacing the stretcher. Overall, the painting is in good condition.
