Price for lamp including shade. This extraordinary table lamp is based on an original ceramic vase by Scheurich from the 1960s/70s. Scheurich is one of the most significant manufacturers of West German pottery and became internationally known for its experimental glazes and serially produced design vases. Many of the manufacturer's designs still appear remarkably modern today and exemplify the expressive design language of German ceramic modernism. The vase features a strongly sculptural, rhythmically structured form with softly modelled wave patterns – typical of the more experimental Scheurich series of that time. Particularly impressive is the deep glossy cobalt blue glaze: depending on the light, it shifts between almost black night blue and intensely bright ultramarine. The relief-like surface creates exciting light reflections and an extraordinary optical depth. Dimensions: Vase: approx. 24 cm high. Total lamp: approx. 52 cm high. Lamp shade: approx. 23 cm diameter, 27 cm height. Lamp shade: The lamp shade is covered with a high-quality cotton fabric in deep dark blue. The stylised crane motif is inspired by Japanese textile designs and harmonises excellently with the cool, intense glaze of the vase. The red accents of the fabric echo the trim of the shade and create an elegant, warm light atmosphere when switched on. Conversion to lamp: The vase has been expertly converted into a table lamp. The cable is routed directly into the socket at the back, so no hole had to be drilled into the vase. Equipped with an E27 socket, transparent cable, toggle switch, and Euro plug. A characterful mid-century unique piece with authentic West German pottery provenance – perfect as a statement piece for sideboards, lounges, or stylish room presentations.
