Svane daybed by Ingmar Relling, Norway, 1960s

This Norwegian mid-century daybed, Svane, was designed by Ingmar Relling for Ekornes and manufactured in the 1960s. The overall size is H: 77 / W: 77 / D: 164 cm. A solid teak frame combined with original, well-preserved, checkered wool upholstery in azure color with navy accents gives a strong mid-century look. It has a sleeping function while fully unfolded and also features a compartment for sheets and blankets underneath. The side table opens smoothly and has a specific stopping point while placed horizontally. Perfect for any living room, office space, or vintage-style lounge. The most striking feature of this piece is the original upholstery, so well preserved. It is a classic Svane pattern, as well as an absolute mark of the 70s decade. We replaced an original foam to ensure that it's going to be comfortable for the next decades, but still preserved the original fabric. We have made sure that all mechanisms work properly. Wood has been renovated. The Svane stamp on the frame confirms its originality. Additional dimensions: - the total length reaches 195 cm, - seat height 40 cm, - ground clearance 23 cm.
