We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent cabinet of exceptionally rare Chinese origin, inlaid with mother-of-pearl, dating from around 1820. A very rare and collectible piece, it includes two cupboards, three drawers, and a beautiful platform on top for displaying trinkets. This cabinet is the most richly inlaid with mother-of-pearl that I have ever seen, absolutely exquisite from every angle, and should be regarded as a piece of art furniture. The two Chinese sculptures inside are not included in this sale but can be found listed among my other items. Dimensions: Height 114 cm, Width 104 cm, Depth 45 cm (measurements taken at the widest point). This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Condition: please see the very detailed photos that are part of the description for more information on the condition. Please note that period and original items such as leather seating always exhibit a natural patina in the form of cracks and wear. We recommend regular polishing to prevent moisture loss. Additionally, hand-dyed leather is not recommended to be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods as it dries out and discolours.
