In the scene, set on a barren and snowy plain crossed by a frozen river, a large sleigh pulled by a horse is parked on the bank, carrying several people: a woman with a child in her arms is about to board, observed by the driver, while another female figure, holding her child by the hand, walks away on the ice. It looks like a stop for Nordic public transport! The work is presented in a frame from the late 19th century, which has several missing or damaged parts.
