Old painting landscape with figures, oil on canvas, 18th century

Oil on canvas. Venetian school of the 18th century. The landscape, rather arid with snow-capped mountain peaks in the background, frames in the foreground a family of shepherds, sitting to rest by the roadside outside the village, while their flock drinks from the nearby stream; meanwhile, they converse and ask for directions from the peasant woman passing on the path with her basket under her arm. Restored and re-stretched, the painting is presented in a period frame.
