We are pleased to present this splendid oil painting on panel, dating from the second half of the 19th century. This magnificent landscape is signed in the lower right corner: V. Bussolino. The signature is attributed to the Italian painter Vittorio Bussolino (Turin, 1853–1922). The painter depicts a beautiful plain, likely in northern Italy, on a sunny day. In the foreground on the left, a flock grazes peacefully under the watchful eye of a shepherd seated in the shade of a large tree. The green hues of the lush landscape dominate the painting and blend harmoniously with a blue sky animated by large white clouds. This work perfectly reflects the artistic quality achieved by many 19th-century Italian Verist painters, whose favorite subjects were landscapes. The brushstrokes are thick and textured, and the colors are vivid and luminous. This fantastic painting will transport you to the peace and colors of the Italian countryside. If you love 19th-century Italian painters, you absolutely must add this wonderful painting to your collection. A splendid work of art that will enchant your guests! The painting is framed in a magnificent 19th-century gilded wooden frame with relief decorations.
