Elegant Louis XVI style writing desk, made of mahogany in the early 20th century and topped with a royal red marble surface with grey and ochre veining. The front opens in three parts: A belt drawer, with hexagonal drop handles in brass. A flamed mahogany drop front that reveals a red leather writing surface with gold tooling, held by brass hinges. The interior includes 5 small drawers, 2 niches, and a shelf. Two doors at the bottom, with an internal shelf. Fluted corner posts, pearl-edged lock entries, and spindle legs fitted with brass caps. The key is included. Its compact size (only 37 cm deep) allows it to be easily placed in an entrance, living room, or bedroom. Condition: very good overall condition. The wood is sound, the drawers slide well, and the drop front mechanism works. The leather writing surface shows signs of use, and the marble has a small chip on the front edge.
