Very rare and charming Art Nouveau period pot signed Sarreguemines, in polychrome majolica, with its original lid. Circa 1885. A tobacco pot from the period that can be repurposed according to your inspirations, as a jewellery box or decorative element. Piece in the shape of Sarreguemines number 3329. Emblematic of the Art Nouveau period with its organic lines and decor featuring fluid shapes evoking plant movement and the aesthetic explorations of the Belle Époque. Voluptuous and dynamic silhouette, sculpted in relief with undulating and asymmetrical ribs. Majolica with mixed shades of plum purple, mauve pink, amber caramel, cream, and celadon turquoise blue on the inside. The original lid follows the lines of the body and ends with a delicately shaped knob. The interior features a bright turquoise glaze that elegantly contrasts with the warm and purplish tones of the exterior. The body of the pot is in superb condition, with no chips and well-preserved colours. Beautiful shine of the glaze both inside and out. Only to note on the lid, an old restoration as you can see in the last photo, which does not weaken the piece as it was done solidly.
