Chinoiserie Buffet with Marble Top in Chippendale Style

We are delighted to offer this sumptuous buffet with a hand-painted marble top in the Chinese Chippendale Chinoiserie style. A very aesthetic and decorative buffet, hand-painted with rural scenes depicting animals and what appear to be Roman ruins. The top is a solid slab of marble and the structure is made of pitch pine. The piece dates from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, around 1900-1920, likely made during the Chinese export period. Regarding its condition, it has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished from top to bottom, and naturally shows some patina due to age and honest use. Note that vintage and original items like leather seating will always have a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. We recommend annual waxing to prevent moisture loss; also, hand-dyed leather is not recommended to be left in prolonged direct sunlight as it may dry out and fade.
