Elegant oval serving dish in Ironstone signed Longchamp, Liserons collection, late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890 - 1910, sepia colour. The rim is adorned with a continuous frieze of flowering bindweed, with soft, twining stems that intertwine with great delicacy. In the centre, a reminder of the floral motif balances the composition. Sepia decoration on a soft cream colour of the earthenware. The Longchamp factory, renowned for the quality of its ironstone, produced tableware that was both robust and elegant, intended for fine bourgeois tables.
