A lovely vintage handmade vase, made by the talented and well-known artist Mari Simmulson for the equally famous Upsala Ekeby in the 1970s. It features fantastic glazing with stunning details in a pale turquoise colour. The vase is signed and in very good condition with a rustic ambience, providing a genuine mid-century modern feeling. Mari Simmulson (1911-2000) was an Estonian-Swedish ceramicist, painter, and textile artist, known for her bold and contemporary style. Upsala Ekeby was one of Sweden’s leading brands for mid-century modern art pottery, focusing on both functionality and stylish design.
