Authentic pieces from the Manufacture Bretonne de Faïences Artistiques (MBFA) in Pornic, this pair of plates (deep and flat) embodies the artisanal elegance resulting from post-World War II know-how. Since its creation in 1947 by the Dryander family (earthenware makers from father to son since 1827, owners of the Niderviller factory in Moselle, created in 1735 and refugees in Pornic in 1939), this factory has been the crucible of regional creativity mixed with the family tradition of Niderviller. The Ninon model, typical of the collections of the 1960s, is distinguished by its delicate line and a sought-after hand-painted decoration, a richness of green, yellow, pink and purple hues on a light gray background. Cut for the table as well as for display, these plates display the finesse of the enamel and the expressive force of French earthenware. Stamped MBFA Pornic Ninon model.
