Magnificent antique modernist vase in glazed earthenware, a character piece from the famous Gustave De Bruyn Manufacture in Lille-Fives. This piece stands out with its tripod shape and very architectural bridled handles, typical of the Art Deco period (circa 1920-1930). Superb speckled glazing in shades of midnight blue, olive green, and amber ochre. The glaze remains very vibrant and shiny. Signed under the base with the characteristic relief stamp of the pottery (stylised anchor), the model number 1497 incised, as well as the workshop marks "A" and "M". Very nice presentation appearance. Note a natural crazing of the glaze (fine original cracks) that attests to its age. No major chips, the piece is in good condition. Style: Art Deco / Modernist. Height 21cm Diameter 20cm.
