Vintage vase with double bridge handles – Cast blue enamel – Vallauris years

Beautiful vintage ceramic vase handcrafted in the 1960s–1970s, probably made in a workshop in Vallauris. The piece is wheel-thrown: the traces of turning and the glaze spilling over the base are clearly visible, characteristic signs of artisanal (not industrial) production. The glaze is stunning: a poured cobalt blue and turquoise enamel, applied in vertical drips, typical of workshops in the South of France during this period. The two wide bridge handles add a lovely sculptural presence.
