Coat hanger / floor lamp by Gae Aulenti for Stilnovo, Italy 1970

A beautiful combined coat hanger and floor lamp designed by Gae Aulenti, manufactured by Stilnovo in Italy in 1970. This iconic, innovative design is made of white plastic on a black foot and with black curved hangers. Combined with the cylinder shape, this piece is a real statement of mid-century Italian design by one of Italy’s most famous designers from the era. What makes it really unique is that the piece doubles as a floor lamp – it emits a bright upwards light when lit.
