Gio Ponti Pirellone Floor Lamp for Fontana Arte Italy 1967

Pirellone floor lamp, designed by Gio Ponti in 1967 for Fontana Arte Italy. The design is based on the Pirelli skyscraper in Milano. The lamp consists of a pair of curved glass panels held in place by 2 nickel plated elements, one at the base and the other at the top: a simple structure achieved through the use of highly shock-resistant glass. The lamp features a dimmer with a dual light emission system: diffuse (10 bulbs inside) and indirect (1 halogene at the top). Beautiful lamp, especially when lit. This particular lamp was made in the 1990s. The lamp is in excellent condition, minimal traces of use.
