Mid-century floor lamp, 1960s

Elegant mid-century floor lamp with two shades. A reserved and detailed design. The materiality and colouring in black and brass are remarkable here. The heavy plate base is designed like a flat bowl, offset from the floor with legs on a shadow joint. It is covered in structural black lacquer. At the centre of the base, a brass panel is used as a decorative element and transition to the stem. Slim brass stems emerge from the centre of the base, with two simple shades resting at the upper ends. The stems are covered in black plastic in the midsection, serving as a grip and for decorative purposes. The two shades are simple cylinders covered in light parchment. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of wear. The shades have been renewed. The surfaces have been polished to a high shine by a craftsman, and the electrical components have been updated.
