A wonderfully stylish and practical mid-century coffee table, dating from the 1960s and beautifully reflecting the clean lines and functional design of Scandinavian-inspired British furniture. This elegant table is crafted in warm, naturally grained teak and features an ingenious extending sliding-top mechanism. The two teak tabletop sections slide smoothly apart to reveal a square white central surface, traditionally finished in tile or melamine/Formica. This clever detail adds both visual interest and practicality to the design. Beneath the tabletop is a beautifully designed lower slatted shelf, with its ladder-style construction providing the perfect place for magazines, books or everyday essentials. The combination of the rich teak, clean architectural lines and contrasting white centre gives the table a particularly attractive retro mid-century appearance.
