Collector's item: Original Thonet Piano Stool No. 1 with padding. Swivel stool by the traditional company Gebrüder Thonet, Vienna from the end of the 19th century. The piano stool is made of black lacquered wood and features a bentwood ring frame. The curved legs are held together by the bentwood ring. The stool is heavy and very stable. It can be adjusted in height from 43 cm to approx. 58 cm via a long spindle. The seat area was originally made of so-called Viennese caning and has been padded afterwards. The other parts are made of solid beech wood or metal. This early model still has the seat ring supported by cross-arranged, slightly bent woods; in later models, these were replaced by metal. The stool comes with the original Thonet impression stamp "Thonet Austria" and the paper label "Thonet Vienna" beneath the seat.
